OUR LIVELIHOOD

Dhaatri works for the economic and livelihood security of women to assert for their rights to natural resources, resist economic exploitation, to explore sustainable alternatives to illegal/informal wage labour and exchange livelihood skills and knowledge.

Improving Livelihoods through training in value addition of Forest Produce 

An Adda-Leaf plate making machine set up in Dallapalli village by Dhaatri with the help of donations from well-wishers. Young women collect leaves from the forest and learn to make environmentally sustainable leaf plates.

Supporting women workers’ rights in the extractives

Dhaatri is working with Prithvi Trust in raising the concerns over wages and occupational health illnesses like Silicosis of women mine workers in the diamond mines and stone quarries-we organized a collaborative workshop on Silicosis to dialogue with the Government of Madhya Pradesh on Policy for Rehabilitation of Silicosis Affected Workers and for improving health and safety of workers at mine sites​

Sustainable Housing with local knowledge and resources

Adivasi Youth are building Dhaatri’s community resource centre at Poolabanda from skills learned at Keystone on using rammed earth techniques of house construction
