Dhaatri organised a summer camp for children and adolescent girls at Rellamamidi village. The three day camp,which was conducted in the village school was attended by 25 -50 children.
Tribal songs, group games, craftwork with stones and newspaper and rhythmic excercises were part of the daily routine at the camp. But what highlighted the camp was the more serious and relevant topics on their body rights,awareness of sexual harassment through easily understandable contexts.Tribal identity was stressed through Creation stories of Khonds.
Discussions on body hygiene ,female body issues and gender equality were done with the older girls.The camp was filled with fun and laughter giving them an insight into the importance of team work.All in all,the five hour per day activities were an entertaining and informative three days for the participants as well as the organizing team.
