Dhaatri organized the annual summer camp for the children of Dallapalli and surrounding villages from 28th of May to the 1st of June, 2018. The five day camp was attended by up to 70 children between the ages of 6 and 14.The camp focused on the tribal knowledge of local herbs and plants and the ill effects of plastic invasion in our lives. Sadly, the once pristine villages are also not spared of the foray of plastic in their lives. A theatre workshop addressing this issue was conducted and the children came up with an impressive performance on the plastic pollution.. The tribal children’s life revolve around nature and their knowledge of medical plants and other herbs which they brought back after a hike through the forest was shared among them. Song,dance and rhythm are a way of life with the tribal people. The children grow up being adept at making songs, singing, dancing and drumming and it was amazing to see the way they shared that knowledge .
